What is included in the rental?

Use of the space and our “old wooden folding chairs” that add even more charm to the space!

What is the max capacity of the barn?

The barn can hold 175 people comfortably for either a ceremony or reception set up.

What is the size of the barn?

The main room of the structure is 1670 sq. ft.  Additionally, for use, is a 650 sq. ft. haymow, a 730 sq. ft. farrowing house, a 1140 sq. ft. back porch, and plenty of room behind for cocktail tables in the grass.

Can I set up a tent in the grass?

Yes!  There is plenty of room to accommodate a tent near the barn.

Is the barn air conditioned? 

No, the barn has been restored to how it stood in its “hay” day, which means the doors open for a nice cross-breeze.

What happens if it rains?

The barn has a new roof and doors that can slide shut.  Though sunshine streams through the space between the boards, the inside of the barn stays dry.

Are there restrooms in the barn? 

Dear John Acres currently does not have plumbed-in restrooms.  For events, portable restrooms are rented by guests.  There is a hydrant which allows for luxury restroom trailers, should guests wish to rent them.

Is the barn wheelchair accessible?

Yes, it is.  The concrete makes all ground-level areas of the barn very accessible. 

Where do guests park?

There is a large grass area east of the barn for plenty of parking.  This allows guests to park close to the venue without obstructing outside photo opportunities.
